Friday Happy Hour Idea!

What do you think of this?

Each Friday, someone will host a very informal happy hour at their house. I will purchase a flag that you will place in your yard that will signal where the happy hour will be.

The hosting family will provide some casual snacks, and those who attend should bring their favorite drink to share. (a two liter of Coke, beer, wine, juice boxes, vodka...) whatever The host family should not scour their house. It is casual, and we are JUST the neighbors! The snacks could just be chips and dip, whatever.

Do you think we should start off having each street having their own or do you think we should start neighborhood wide?

We, the Grahams, at 95 Grogans Landing, will host the first one. I will check for a date...

We are new to the neighborhood and I think it would be fun. My recommendation would be to do it monthly, but consistent date, like first Friday of every month. I know of other neighborhoods that do a monthly "Cocktail Club" and have great turn out. I like having the whole neighborhood instead of by street.

Welcome to the neighborhood! Thanks, also, for your ideas. You may be right that weekly may be too much to start with-

Sounds like fun, and once a month sounds easier.

I LOVE Happy Hours! ;) Great idea. We'll come to all that we can.

I think weekly might actually be easier as it will keep crowds down to a manageable level. (We have over 160 homes in the Bluff.) Either way it sounds like fun.

I love this idea! We, too, moved (most recently) from Buckhead and miss the social aspect of standing in the middle of the street with a glass of wine hanging out with the neighbors. The impromptu gatherings...but then there were the rats and the house closing in on us.....Let's bring the good parts here!

Looking forward to it. I know this is a long time from now, I can't remember what we do here in GB, but I will throw out that the moving holiday open house/dinner party where each house had their own quirky theme was the greatest!

How Fun
